That Jesus Be Preeminent
That Jesus Be Preeminent provides scripture-based, practical guidance on exalting Jesus to the preeminent place in our lives and keeping Him there. The good news of the kingdom of God is that when we exalt Jesus to be our Savior and Lord then He redeems us from the punishment for sin, frees us from slavery to sin, and transforms us into His likeness.
Jesus is the Bread of Life — everything else is no more than a picture of food. We are complete in Him (Col 2:10) and in no other person or thing. Compared to knowing Him, everything else is rubbish (Phil 3:8). Therefore, Satan’s purpose is to eliminate or minimize our fellowship with Jesus.
Dr. Pirkle focuses on the importance of repentance, hating (not playing with) sin, 100% not 95% surrender to Jesus, the major deceptions of the enemy (including religious deceptions), Jesus giving victory in spiritual warfare, the mystery of Jesus abiding in me and me abiding in Jesus, the work of the Holy Spirit, stages of growth in Christ, and the faithfulness of God.
Choosing Jesus and Science
Dr. Pirkle finds that the staggering biochemical complexity of life and the extreme fine-tuning of the universe are compelling evidence for the handiwork of God. He finds that the claims of Neo-Darwinism conflict with evidence-based science. He describes three points of complete failure for Neo-Darwinism: a Sequential Synthesis Failure, a Nonfunctional Intermediate Failure and a Joint Survival Failure. Many examples are provided of these failures in making the molecules and proteins required for life. Each example by itself is a single point of complete failure for Neo-Darwinism.
Dr. Pirkle also describes the extreme fine-tuning of the universe calculating the extremely, extremely small probability of undirected processes forming the universe. Science commonly rejects a hypothesis that has a probability of one in a million (one in 10⁶) of being true and using the same criteria, we should reject that undirected processes formed the universe, which has a probability less than 1 in 10¹⁰⁰⁰.
